Stock investing means buying and selling of stocks, bonds, shares or other financial securities. There are other ways of buying stock besides through a broker. One way is directly from the company itself. If at least one share is owned, most companies will allow purchasing shares directly from the company through their investor relations departments. However, the initial share of stock in the company will have to be obtained through a regular stock broker. Another way to buy stock in companies is through Direct Public Offerings, which are usually sold by the company itself.
If you are a beginner for stock investment then it is advised to do the investment and trading through a stock broker who has a thorough knowledge of stock market, who has latest updates regarding various stocks or shares available, current prices, market competition etc. A stock broker may not necessarily give a client leads on good stocks, but rather make sure all the appropriate papers are signed and answer any questions about the type of trade, purchase, or sale conducted. Thus, you will get an exact idea about which type of stocks you are purchasing, their current value, the company’s true value you are investing in, further booms, and expected returns etc.
Always remember while investing in stocks, the motive of investment is not to fix current financial problems, but to secure retirement, children’s education, or simply have a savings later in life.
